Biography
Dr. Daniel G. Pompa is an Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon. In 1985 he established The Oral Surgery and Implant Center in Forest Hills, New York. After graduating from New York University College of Dentistry in 1978, Dr. Pompa completed a GPR at Long Island Jewish Hospital, followed by speciality training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Lincoln Hospital, New York Medical College. In 1982, he became a Fellow of The American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. He is also a Fellow in the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr. Dan Pompa has lectured extensively, both nationally and internationally, including at the National Meeting of the Academy of Osseointegration, the International Interdisciplinary Congress on Craniofacial and Skull Base Surgery, the XXII Inter American Medical and Dental Conference and has frequently presented at the annual Greater New York Dental Meeting since 1982. Dan is also an inventor, having been issued a U.S. Patent for his innovative work in the field of Dental Implantology. This is U.S. Patent # 5,320,529. The title of the patent is "Method and Apparatus for Locating an Ideal Site for a Dental Implant and for the Precise Surgical Placement fo that Implant" and was filed in September, 1992 and issued June 14,1994. At that time he demonstrated a method and apparatus for the early use of the Surgical Guide and discussed the advantages of 3D treatment planning for Implant Dentistry. This patent has now been cited by 359 patents.
